Performer Bios
Five of Australia's most talented and professional entertainers are the sensational singing group Pot-Pourri. These versatile cabaret and concert performers have 40 overseas tours under their belts. Their shows incorporate opera, music theatre, classical and jazz, cabaret, comedy, magic, dance, script and lyric writing and didgeridoo. Pot-Pourri creates unique music theatre and opera productions for a range of venues and festivals and unique customised corporate entertainment for a variety of special events in Australia and internationally.
Research
Recently British singer-songwriter Joan Armatrading presented a series of 15 minute programs on BBC Radio about choirs, from gospel to world music and classical. In one, she interviewed medical practitioners who describe the various benefits that singing can have on both mental and physical well-being, as well as talking to several people whose own lives have been completely transformed as a result of starting to sing in a choir.
Professor Stephen Clift of the Sidney de Haan Research Centre for Arts and Health at Canterbury Christchurch University in the UK, has conducted the first major European survey on the effect of singing on physical and mental well-being. The Centre is committed to researching the contribution of music and other participative arts activities in promoting the health and well-being of both individuals and communities. Professor Clifts survey provides evidence that singing in harmony with others, such as in a choir or in parts, is particularly beneficial. The outcomes reported include increased happiness as well as reduced stress levels; singing in unison also helps people cope with and recover from mental illnesses such as depression and schizophrenia. Singing therapy is now being used to treat people suffering from dementia and stroke; even if you lose the ability to speak as the result of a stroke, it doesn't necessarily interfere with your ability to sing.
One of the Centre's aims is to unearth the scientific evidence that singing can measurably improve people's lives, whether young or old. Its goal is to introduce a practical scheme for 'Singing on Prescription' in the UK, to which people could be referred by their doctor, in a similar way to existing arts and exercise schemes, which have been very effective in increasing both the physical and psychological health of participants.

Finding Your Voice Workshops
Super diva, voice teacher, speaker and performer Tania de Jong AM, will help participants to find and free their natural voice in this inspiring workshop for anybody who needs to communicate and present more effectively. This is a brilliant team building activity designed to heighten wellbeing, creativity, emotional expression and self awareness. Make your presence felt through sound. Hear yourself become a leader. Be aware of the sounds others are making when they communicate. Learn to lead and follow through the sense of sound!!
The workshop will offer a powerful leadership development experience in which you will discover your own voice; learn to use it effectively to lead and to experience the application and importance of voice in presenting, influencing and being heard.

Well-known Australian group, Pot-Pourri (4 singers and pianist), in an entertaining and educational program showcasing the history and variety of opera and music theatre from Figaro to Phantom. Voice and Performance Workshops
Voice and performance workshops and master classes by artists from the company focusing on posture, breathing, relaxation for performance, voice production, ensemble singing, repertoire, performance skills, school musicals, etc. Can also provide adjudicators for school music/drama competitions.

Take four fantastic opera trained performers and one terrific pianist, add props, costumes, heaps of vitality and fun, and you have The Warbles - a primary school entertainment show that your students will thoroughly enjoy.
The artists combine the magic of opera with the frivolity of music theatre to create a 45-minute show packed with fun and laughter. Students get an insight into the world of music theatre by means of informative, entertaining dialogue and audience interaction.
Students develop an appreciation of opera, operetta & music theatre, and are treated to a humorous look at famous songs. The traditionally elitist art form of opera is deconstructed in front of their eyes as Carmen dances, Eliza Doolittle sits among them, Oliver picks a pocket or two and the Pirate King recruits student pirates to sing and dance with him. The show includes highlights from The Magic Flute, Carmen, The Mikado, Pirates of Penzance, Oliver, My Fair, Lady, Walt Disney, The Warbles' own songs and much more!
The Warbles song is provided in the Teachers Pack. It's fun and simple, and can be taught before the performance so students can sing along. The singers use the song to introduce their voice types: soprano, mezzo soprano, tenor and baritone. Students love question time too! The performers drop their personas and answer questions about anything, including the performance and careers in the performing arts.

Requirements
- Pot-Pourri is able to organise all staging, lighting, audiovisual, sound requirements and special effects (even a fireworks display!) for your entire event covering all presentation, speakers and entertainment.
- Through the group's production manager special video and data compilations can be customised to suit your event comprising specific footage and scanned images which can be projected in time with a meaningful Pot-Pourri song.
- Pot-Pourri can also organise hire and delivery of pianos throughout Australia at a reasonable rate through their piano supply company.
- The most popular performance combination is four singers and a pianist. For any event 1-8 singers plus dancers and actors are available to suit your budget and requirements. An orchestra or band may also accompany the performers.
- Performances vary in duration from 15 minutes to full concert length, depending upon your needs. Should you wish, our talented pianist will provide background music to accompany your pre-dinner drinks or dinner.

Customisation and Versatility
There is no typical Pot-Pourri show - their program is individually and specifically designed according to the client, atmosphere, event and venue details. They write unique songs for clients about topics as diverse as gynaecology, medicine, concrete and cars which is about as close to sex, drugs and rock'n'roll as they get!
Pot-Pourri caters for concerts, festivals, conferences, incentives, awards nights, private parties, dinners, launches, weddings, anniversaries, Christmas parties, ceremonies, fashion parades, fundraising concerts and municipal functions. They perform to groups of 20 and crowds of thousands.
Pot-Pourri is at home in any setting: at vineyards, lakes and gardens, on ships and trucks, in galleries, clubs and hotels, car parks, homes, schools, churches as well and the major concert venues, hotel ballrooms and theatres in Australia and overseas.

The Pot-Pourri artists - Tania de Jong AM (soprano), Rebecca Bode (soprano), Jon Bode (tenor), Jonathan Morton (baritone) and Rebecca Chambers (pianist), have all performed with Australia's major musical and opera companies. Pot-Pourri has an extensive touring schedule and has appeared at major venues such as the Melbourne Concert Hall, Sydney Town Hall, Burswood and Wrest Point Casinos. The group has toured throughout many parts of the USA and Asia performing as guest artists with the Seoul Symphony Orchestra, touring major concert halls in Taiwan and Japan and was the only Australian group invited to perform at the International Music Theatre Festival in Korea. They launched their fifth album in a sellout season at The Famous Spiegeltent at the Melbourne Festival. Pot-Pourri was the first Australian act invited to perform at the Macau Concert Hall and recently returned from performances in Hong Kong for the Hong Kong Jockey Club and Government House, and debut shows in mainland China. Pot-Pourri has released 6 albums.
